March news from room 206

Despite the temperature this morning, Spring is just around the corner—March is certainly coming in like a lion this year—hopefully it leaves like a lamb!
This month takes us further into our study of the civil rights movement in the United States, and as we wrap up our reading workshop unit on biographies, we’ll look more closely at stories about the people who worked to change our country, working to develop a deeper understanding of what it meant to be a part of that change.
Hopefully you have had a chance to read through the material that was sent home about the PARCC tests taking place over the next two weeks. This year, we will continue to rely on NWEA to measure how well students are learning, however it is important that your student is not tardy on the days we are testing.
If you would like to learn more, please visit cps.edu/parcc where you can find FAQs, information and links to practice tests.
